Lakewood, CO, November 1st – For the first time Westfax Brewing will be releasing its very first Hazy IPA series. The series will consist of a brand new beer every time with slight variations to the grain bill, hops, and brewing technique to help them further their knowledge on Hazy IPAs. The first release in the series is set to debut on November 1st at 2PM and will be available to-go in 16oz singles, 4-packs, and on draft.
The first Spirit Guide Hazy IPA was brewed with Pilsner, Wheat, and Toasted Oats to help pull together a smooth and creamy mouthfeel as well as a nice base for a hefty amount of dry hopping of Centennial, Cashmere, Moutere, Motueka, and Vic Secret, producing the perfect combination of melon, kiwi, lemon, and lime.
Each variation of Spirit Guide is to be released on a bi-monthly basis and each variety will have its own unique label opening up the opportunity to invite a new artist to design the next can all while utilizing animals as its Spirit Guide.

Halloween is one of the most fun holidays of the year! We couldn’t go without having a fun halloween party so we decided to throw a Spooks & Brews halloween party encompassed by a bunch of ghoulish fun!
We decided start the day off with a popcorn & beer pairing using Kettlehead popcorn. The pairing consisted of Maple paired with Blootylicious Blueberry Wheat, Denver Cheddar paired with Tears of our Enemies Scottish Ale, Toasted Cinnamon paired with Urban Lumberjack Hazy IPA, and Jalapeno Cheddar paired with Peaches Be Crazy Peach Sour!
At a lot of our events we like to release Small Batch beers that we brew specifically for the event! This time we decided to go the spiced route and brewed up a small batch Peach Cobbler Sour with Peaches, Cinnamon Sticks, and Vanilla! It ended up tasting like you were biting right into a piece of peach cobbler with a nice subtle tart finish. Our second one of the day was a Chai Tears of our Enemies which is our staple Scottish Ale. It produced flavors of spiced vanilla, cinnamon, clove, and as an added touch we served it on nitro to give it a nice creamy mouthfeel and fluffy head.
This halloween party wouldn’t have been complete without a costume contest! So we rounded up some prizes for Best Costume, Best Group/Couple, and Best Pup! To say the least we had a very great handful of participants. We ran a catwalk of all the contestants down an aisle to strut their stuff while the rest of the taproom cheered them on! Here you can see our contestant winners: Best Costume Bob Ross, Best Group/Couple Paul Bunyan with Pancakes, Butter, and Maple Syrup, Best Pup Hot Dog.
In addition to our Costume Contest the taproom was filled with halloween themed music and scary movies playing on the TVs! We had a ton of fun with everyone and don’t want to forget all the awesome costumes that came through! Scroll through this post to see all the awesome people who came out to support! It absolutely means the world to us! We can’t thank you enough!
After a crazy GABF filled week we decided to take the day off to take a trip out to Frisco, CO and have an employee appreciation day.
We set out for the trails and hiked on the Lily Pad Lake Trail for a while before finding a nice resting area where we enjoyed some beer and took photos of our new merchandise all while enjoying the great outdoors!
Right around the corner from the hiking trail was Outer Range Brewery where they specialize in Hazy IPAs where we enjoyed many! We sat down hung out chatting amongst each other enjoying lunch and talking about our crazy week with lots of laughter, good beer, and good food!
For everyone who loves beer the Great American Beer Festival is one of the top destinations every year! Once a year breweries from all over American come to Denver to partake in a 3 day long festival pouring more than 4,000 beers! Being local to the event makes it even more special to us! We’re able to fill our taproom with visitors from all over the states to try out beer and spread our name further than just the festival.
For the BA Concussion Protocol With Plums we did special tappings each day to make sure we had enough to last through the whole event! We ended up kicking each batch every night! It was definitely a head turner.
With a busy festival packed week we also kept things as busy as possible at the brewery with can & bottle releases, new merch, small batches, and more! The first even we ran was our $3 GABF beers followed by a can release of our I Do Eclair Pastry Stout and Sippin’ on a Cloud Double Hazy IPA! The next day we released bottles of our BA Concussion Protocol With Plums with a small batch Belgian Tripel with Lemon making it a day of Belgian beers at the brewery! We are always so thankful to everyone for stopping by our booth or the taproom during GABF. It’s all because of you guys that we are able to keep pursuing our dreams.
